2024-2025 Designs.

Over the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Headteacher Chat to design the covers for their annual planners, aimed at school leaders. It's always a joy to work with this company as they allow me to express my creative freedom and illustrative style.

For each planner that is designed,a sophisticated and premium feel is always at the core for this company's outcome. My challenge is to produce a design which reflects these requirements whilst pushing the brief as far as it can go to excite their customers each coming year.

For the 2024-2025 planners, the brief was to continue on the premium aesthetic whilst designing a light and dark mode that depicts a range of florals. After consulting the client, I was able to push the boundaries of the brief, creating a different style of cover from previous years by introducing a shaped template rather than a full block cover. We felt this added more visual interest and intracacy. The first cover, titled Hazy Days, features muted blue-toned florals inspired by both Chinese blue ceramics and Italian tiles. I worked closley with these inspirations to add in authentic free flowing foloage that reflected the hazy intalian and porcelin references. The colour palette also depicted of these influences with a muted blue and green pairing, complimented with a pop of vibrant lime green for the figs. Contrastingly,the second design, Midnight Garden, opposes Hazy Days with a darker aesthetic, inspired by English forest landscapes. This English forest theme has been a contant throughout my time woiking with Headteacher Chat as a best seller, making my challenge each year that little bit harder, coming up with new ways to depict English forests. For this cover, I focused more on the spring foliage that you may encounter in these landscapes with illustrations of bluebells,spring hairs and birds to create a design that myself and client were really happy with.
